Sussex Flats are private landlords, specialising in the rental of clean and comfortable yet affordable flats in Sussex.

When you rent a flat from Sussex Flats you can be sure that your new home has been carefully refurbished and maintained to a high standard. Your comfort and safety are very important and all gas and electrical installations are to the latest specifications and are regularly inspected, tested and certificated.

Renting a flat from Sussex Flats is a simple straight-forward process. Once you have chosen a flat you will be asked to complete a short form, providing details of your occupation, employer bank and current landlord. You will also be asked for a £150 holding deposit to reserve your new home. You will be asked for a nonrefundable reference fee of £25 and your references will be checked. If everything is satisfactory a moving-in date will be agreed. If there is a problem with your references you may be asked to supply a guarantor willing to guarantee the payment of your rent.

On or before your move-in date you will pay one month’s rent in advance plus a security deposit equal to one month’s rent plus £60 (less the £150 holding deposit you’ve already paid). You will also be asked to sign a bank standing-order to pay your rent each month. It is very important that your rent is paid on time every month.

You will be asked to enter into a six month assured shorthold tenancy – the fairest and most common form of rental agreement.

Your new home will be handed over to you in excellent condition and very clean. You will need to keep the flat clean and in good condition and hand it back in the same state at the end of your tenancy that it was in at the start. Remember that there may be a deduction made from your security deposit if your flat needs any remedial work or cleaning.
